(Oct. 22) -- A new chapter in the battle over alleged voter registration fraud opned Friday. A Las Vegas attorney is preparing to file a legal action that would make sure registration isn't reopened.
Lawyer Tom Kummer said late Friday that he will file his motion Monday morning in response to an action filed Thursday. That suit asked a district judge to reopen registration on behalf of anyone who might have been denied a chance to register because of fraud or other reasons.
Kummer's action states that reopening registration would be unfair to those voters who followed the rules. "Somehow this would give an opportunity to those who were too lazy or who forgot to register that they will now be allowed to vote."
One of the two persons to be listed in Kummer's motion is a republican who ran for the Nevada State Assembly this year. When asked if he had been hired by the Republican Party, Kummer refused to answer.
