LVCVA Board Approves Deal to Keep NFR

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority board has approved a deal that will keep the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas through 2024.

The organizers of the event, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, had considered leaving Las Vegas, after 29 years, to go to Florida.

Las Vegas Events negotiated with the PRCA to keep the event, which generates an estimated $100 million every December, in southern Nevada.

Under the agreement, LVE will guarantee $16.5 million annually in purse and sponsorship for the Wrangler NFR.
