LAS VEGAS -- A Clark County grand jury indicted a Las Vegas man Wednesday in connection with an officer-involved shooting in December.

The jury indicted Jose Luis Aguilar on five counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of resisting a public officer with use of a deadly weapon.

According to Metro Police, at around 9:30 p.m. Dec. 16, officers went to Aguilar's apartment on University Avenue, near Harmon Avenue and Pecos Road, after his roommate called to report that he was suicidal and had injected himself with dog insulin.

Police said Aguilar was armed with a shotgun when he confronted officers outside his apartment. Police shot Aguilar in the ankle, after they say he grabbed the shotgun and pointed it at officers.

The judge set bail at $50,000 and set a next court hearing date for Feb. 13.
