LAS VEGAS -- The popular Roos-N-More zoo in Moapa will not be ready to reopen this weekend, according to owner Valerie Holt.
Holt told 8 News NOW that the zoo must put in concrete bathrooms, following an inspection Monday by the Southern Nevada Health District.
Holt said the zoo must have plans for the bathrooms drawn up by an architect then approved by the business department and the SNHD. When those plans are approved, a process that could take several weeks, they can bring in portable bathrooms, but even then the zoo can only be open for private tours.
Holt said they are working to raise the money to complete the project, which she now estimates at costing about $250,000.
Clark County shutdown the zoo after finding a number of code violations, including signage and electrical problems, Zoo owners were also letting people use the bathrooms in the private house on the property.
