Coroner IDs Woman Hit, Killed on U.S. 95 Off Ramp

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed while walking on an off ramp from U.S. 95 as 23-year-old Brandi Riley.

The coroner says she died from multiple blunt force motor vehicle trauma and the manner of her death is accidental.

According to NHP, the crash happened around 7 p.m. Monday on the off ramp from northbound U.S. 95 to Valley View Boulevard. Troopers said Riley was walking on the ramp when she was hit by a pickup truck, which was exiting the freeway. Troopers are not sure why she was on the ramp.

"We look at these as a little bit more unique because, in fact, we don't have a lot of pedestrians that walk on the freeway, unfortunately, we do have one here," NHP Trooper Loy Hixson said.

The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt and stayed on scene to cooperate with the investigation.

This was the first fatality this year in NHP's jurisdiction.
