LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Thursday as 28-year-old Griffith Alexander Grossguth of North Las Vegas.
Western Avenue was closed to traffic for several hours following the crash near Sahara Avenue.
The crash happened around 2:10 p.m. According to Metro Police, the motorcyclist was speeding and doing a wheelie on the wrong side of the road when he collided with a Chrysler that was attempting to turn into a parking lot. The collision ejected the rider from his bike.
The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident, and the driver of the Chrysler suffered minor injuries.
The city of North Las Vegas is using fire engines considered past their prime. Some have been on the road for so long, they're now even beyond national standards for replacement.More>>
