LAS VEGAS -- The man shot Tuesday while driving his car has been identified as 26-year-old Cleottus Harvey of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

According to police, Harvey was stopped at a traffic light at Tropicana Ave. and Rainbow Blvd a little before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses told police that a man in a dark colored compact car pulled up to the passenger side of Harvey's car.

"Witnesses told us as that suspect vehicle approached the stopped cars. He was driving in a very dangerous and erratic manner," Metro Police Officer Bill Cassell said.

After some kind of argument, the man in the compact car pulled out a gun and shot Harvey several times, witnesses said. Harvey's two children were in the backseat of the car when the shooting happened.

"Those children have been turned over to the family members. It does not appear that the children were injured in any way," Ofc. Cassell said.

Harvey's car then hit two more cars before coming to a stop on the sidewalk. The gunman left the scene heading westbound on Tropicana.

Metro Police say the gunman is described as a white male driving a dark compact car, possibly an older model. Witnesses told police the driver was speeding and driving recklessly before the shooting.

Police say the motive is unclear, but it could be a road rage incident or it could be related to an earlier incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
