LAS VEGAS - A viewer says she routinely sits through four cycles of traffic lights when attempting to turn from southbound Eastern Avenue to eastbound Tropicana Boulevard.
She says this happens daily between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Regional Transportation Commission FAST tested the signal coordination during a two-day period. Technicians noticed a few cars making u-turns that slowed traffic at the intersection, but did not observe vehicles waiting through four traffic cycles before getting the left turn green light.
Traffic8 timed the light and found it took 14 seconds for the light to change. That is a short amount of time to get a lot of vehicles through the intersection. Traffic8 sent that evidence to the RTC.
RTC officials agreed to monitor the intersection for one more week to see if technicians missed any problems.
