LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas man is under arrest for arson in connection with a fire at a home near Westcliff and Buffalo drives, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue announced.

According to the fire department, Metro Police were called to the home just before 1 a.m. Monday for a domestic dispute. When officers arrived, they found smoke coming from an upstairs bathroom. They immediately called the fire department.

Crews were able to put the fire out quickly. Damage was confined to the bathroom.

Police found that someone had filled the bathtub with cardboard and wooden items then started them on fire.

Fire investigators arrested 25-year-old Joeshawn Sterling on one count of first degree arson. He has been booked at the Clark County Detention Center.

Six people, including two children, were in the home at the time the fire started. No one was hurt.
