Suspect Arrested in Tuesday Morning Homicide

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a man Tuesday morning.

According to police, officers arrested Raul Gonzales, 33 of Las Vegas, Wednesday morning on charges of murder in the first degree and discharging a gun into an occupied structure.

Police say Gonzales fired several shots through the front door of a home on White Skies Court, which is near Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue. The victim, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 35-year-old Eric Paul Montoya, suffered two gunshot wounds as he walked towards the door.

No one else in the home was hurt.

    Las Vegas-- Investigators are looking into what sparked a fire at an apartment complex near Maryland Parkway and Hacienda.The Clark County Fire Department says the blaze started in a garbage can on the east side of the building. A total of five units were affected by smoke and water damage.The Red Cross is assisting one person from one of the units.Arson investigators are looking into the cause, but say there's nothing suspicious about the fire at this time.More>>
