8 on Your Side Helps Replace Faulty Wine Cooler

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS - In the world of wine, temperature is everything. It's something wine enthusiast Chelsea Tystad has learned during the past several months.

"The chemicals in the wine, if they get warm, the wine doesn't have the right taste that it is supposed to have," she said.

Having a wine cooler in her newly renovated kitchen was important to her, especially after she received a rare and valuable collection of wines from a family member.

"My brother gave us a few really nice collectable wines, wines we would have never bought on our own," she said.

She stored the bottles in her cooler, but soon discovered the wine was ruined. "All of the wines on the bottom had frozen," she said.

Her $500 wine cooler ruined the wine, which was worth thousands of dollars. She wanted it fixed, so she called Haier America, the company that made the cooler. A Haier America representative said the company would fix the cooler, but never did.

"It was just the run-around every single time," she said.

Fed up, Tystad called 8 on Your Side. She hoped the problem would be fixed in time for the holidays.

8 on Your Side contacted the public relations team at Haier America in New York City and got the problem fixed.

"I had a brand new unit within a week," she said.

Now she is working on building a new collection of fine wines to enjoy. "It's perfect. It looks great, and it works great," she said.
