Nevada AG Touts Plan to Air Sex Trafficking Show

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Southern Nevada law enforcement officials including state Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto say they hope that a wide showing of a locally produced documentary about sex trafficking will boost awareness and help curb the problem.

Masto said Thursday that multiple TV stations around the state have agreed to air the 30-minute program titled "Trafficked No More" at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 22.

Officials say the idea is to get people talking with their children, neighbors and each other about kidnapping or forcing someone into prostitution -- and about new state laws aimed at prosecuting panderers and helping victims.

The documentary was produced by 10,000 Kids founder and Pastor Troy Martinez at a cost that he estimates at about $42,000. Martinez says he's still raising funds to cover those costs
