LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County School District has a new school board president. Trustee Erin Cranor was voted in as president with a six to one vote.
Before voting on a new president, school board members discussed concerns about the public's distrust of the school board and the need for a new president to address those issues.
"The number one is for each of us to be a leader and for us as seven leaders to engage with our community and lead together and together accomplish great things," Cranor said.
The only dissenting vote came from outgoing president Carolyn Edwards. Cranor is under investigation by the Nevada Commission on Ethics for using school district resources while campaigning for a school bond during the 2012 election.
