Coroner IDs Motorcycle Rider Killed Tuesday Morning

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Tuesday morning as 27-year-old David Carlos Amaral of Las Vegas.

According to Metro Police, the crash happened at around 7:37 a.m. Tuesday in the 4000 block of Flamingo Road, near Decatur Boulevard.

Police say Amaral was traveling westbound through the parking lot when he lost control. The motorcycle fell on its right side and slid through the parking lot. The motorcycle and Amaral hit a concrete planter box.

Police believe the rider was speeding, which caused him to lose control. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
