Jena Chisholm, Missing Girl from KY, Found at Cosmopolitan

LAS VEGAS -- A 20-year-old Kentucky woman reported missing by her family was found at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas late Friday afternoon.

According to police, Jena Chisholm had been sleeping at the parking garage at the resort. She went willingly to the security office at the resort and told them who she was. Security guards then called her mother, Tina Chisholm.

Security guards say she seemed confused and scared.

During an news conference Friday evening, Chisholm's mother told reporters that her daughter had a mental breakdown. She said she left Kentucky to reportedly clear her head.

Tina Chisholm also says her daughter lost her phone while traveling between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. She also lost the keys to her car and her dog.

"When I answered I was like, I was shocked. She was like mom? This is Jena. Jena?!" Chisholm said. "We're excited and I couldn't even believe it when she called it was like a TV moment, it was perfect."

She credited the media with helping find her daughter.

Chisholm's family last saw her at her home in Florence, Kentucky Dec. 19. She had told them she was coming to Las Vegas, but they expected her back in time for a doctor's appointment. When she didn't return, they became very worried.

Her family tracked her trek across the country by using the GPS on her phone.

Her family became even more concerned when her dog Chamber was found at a hotel near Mandalay Bay. Family and friends said she was devoted to the dog and didn't travel without him.

Her car was found at a Siegel Suites apartment complex at Cambridge Street near Twain Avenue and Maryland Parkway early Friday morning.

Metro Police also told 8 News NOW that Chisholm was spotted on the Las Vegas Strip Thursday night.
