RENO, Nev. (AP) -- New Year's Eve crowds in Nevada may have been loud and festive but they were generally well behaved.
Law enforcement agencies report few problems during the celebrations and say most arrests were tied to over intoxication.
Reno police arrested 27 people Tuesday night on violations ranging from battery to urinating in public.
At Lake Tahoe, Douglas county sheriff's deputies say 24 people were arrested.
In Las Vegas, police say that as of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday seven people were arrested on the Las Vegas Strip and six were arrested in the downtown area. Final arrest totals in southern Nevada will be available Thursday.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says five people in the northern Nevada region were arrested for DUI. Troopers also responded to six traffic collisions, none involving life-threatening injuries.
