(Oct. 14) -- President George Bush appeared before a cheering crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with Gov. Kenny Guinn and other Republican governors who were hitting the campaign trail after the last of three presidential debates.
"It wasn't very hard to get the governors to come to Vegas to begin a road trip," Bush said to laughs. "The next two days they're going to travel our country to tell people that leadership matters."
"It's great to be in the home of the Runnin' Rebels," he said of UNLV's basketball team. "And that's what I'm doing -- I'm running and I'm not going to stop until election day," he said.
During the 41-minute address, the president urged voters to re-elect Rep. Jon Porter, R-Nev., who is being challenged by former casino executive Tom Gallagher in a race targeted by the national Democratic Party.
Sen. John Ensign and Rep. Jim Gibbons also attended along with other local Nevada is considered one of the must-watch states in this election.
Bush called Kerry a liberal who ducks and runs at the sign of controversy. Bush's administration created the Department of Homeland Security after Sept.11th. The president told the crowd, with terrorism still a threat, this isn't the time to switch horses in mid-stream.
