Kerry Courts Voters in Nevada

(Oct. 14) -- Democratic presidential candidate, Senator John Kerry addressed the AARP convention at the Sands Convention Center. He is aggressively courting voters over the age of 50.

Senator John Kerry spoke to a crowd of more than 10,000 talking about issues close to them. "We're going to say no to the privatization of social security," Kerry said. Kerry talked about several issues such as social security to members of the AARP.

He talked about his plan to lower prescription drugs and ensure all Americans get health care. We'll end the days of skyrocketing health care costs and drug company giveaways by offering a fresh start on health care in America," Kerry told the crowd.

During a one on one interview with the senator, Eyewitness News reporter Colleen May asked him if recent allegations of voter fraud will impact the results of the election. "I have put together a team of 700 lawyers across the nation. We can guarantee voters at precincts across the country that whoever goes to the polls will have their vote will be counted," Kerry added.

Kerry said he has teams of people prepared to take legal action wherever there is the possibility of fraud. "We are not allowing this election to become what happened in the year 2000."

This was Kerry's fifth visit to Nevada. He did not talk about Yucca Mountain.
