LAS VEGAS -- The Foundation for Independent Living, or FIT, has earned accreditation from the Nevada Commission on Post Secondary Education for its training curriculum which offers training for job seekers.
The Standards of Excellence training program helps unemployed or underemployed adults to become certified as medical administrative assistants, in-home health care aides, logistics associates, logistics technicians, or in Microsoft Office productivity.
"We are especially excited about what accreditation means for our students," said Janet Blumen, FIT founder and CEO. "People who have been longing for a chance to advance their careers and cannot yet afford college tuition, may opt instead to earn certification, land a better job, perhaps eventually working their way toward college."
FIT is able to offer the courses at a much lower tuition rate because it is non-profit. The program is now accepting applications for enrollment. Some participants may qualify for tuition assistance.
