LAS VEGAS -- A UNLV freshman forward has decided to leave the program, head coach Dave Rice announced Wednesday.
In a statement, Jamal Aytes said he was leaving the program because he feels playing somewhere else would give him more playing time.
He has appeared in four of the Runnin' Rebels seven games this season. He has played an average of 9.3 minutes per game and has scored a total of 11 points with three rebounds.
Rice said he was thankful for Jamal's contribution and wishes him the best in the future.
In November, UNLV announced it signed two top recruits. They are expected to enroll next fall as freshman.
