Federal Agents Conduct Drug Investigation at Local Business

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- A narcotics investigation was conducted by federal agents Wednesday at a business on Oakey and Decatur boulevards.

Federal authorities, including special agents with the Homeland Security Investigations, were at a business that appeared to be Free River E-Cigarettes.

A trailer was in the parking lot to take away items, including computers. Agents were also seen wearing protective suits as they went in and out of the business.

"It's kind of scary, cause if it was something the feds had to come in, it was a big thing, I'm just really insecure of people in this neighborhood now," Rigoberto Bugarin said, who works in the area. "I didn't even know there was a business there and you never saw any cars popping up, you never saw anybody coming in and out, or even the garage being open, I thought it was one of the warehouses that were never used."

Federal agents have at least four people in handcuffs just outside the business.

Officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE say these federal agencies are executing a federal search warrant because of that, that cannot tell 8 News NOW what exactly they are looking for, or what alerted them to this business.

Some nearby business in the area say they really haven't had police activity at this business and this all comes as a big surprise.

"I didn't even know there was a business there," Bugarin added. "You never saw any cars popping up, you never saw anybody coming in and out, or even the garage being open, I thought it was one of the warehouses that were never used."

ICE cannot say if they have made any arrests or how long they expect to be out there.

The investigation is on-going and couldn't say what the agents were after or what even led them to the business according to ICE officials.
