Police Investigating Man Found Dead

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are investigating the homicide of an elderly man found dead in his home Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers were called to the man's home near Alta and Rancho drives at around 1:45 p.m. Police were told the man lived alone and suffered from several health issues.

Patrol officers could not get the man to answer the front door. They went to the rear of the house and saw the man dead inside.

Investigators say the man died from an apparent gunshot wound, and they say evidence suggests the victim's home may have been burglarized.

The identity of the victim and his exact cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
