Coroner ID's Man Killed in Crash

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the bicyclist who was killed in a crash Saturday as 19-year-old Kenn Alexander Merlos-Salcido of Henderson.

According to Metro Police, Merlos-Salcido was not following the rules of the road when he was hit and killed at the intersection of Sunset Road and Eastern Avenue at around 7 p.m.

Sgt. Richard Strader of Metro Fatal Detail says Merlos-Salcido ran a red light. A jeep going through the intersection hit him. He died at the scene.

Sgt. Strader says the bicyclist had no lights or reflectors and was not wearing a helmet.

The driver remained on the scene and speed is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

This is the 101st traffic fatality this year in Metro's jurisdiction.
