LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas woman is recovering after two pit bulls attacked her Monday afternoon.

According to Metro Police, the woman was walking her two dogs in a neighborhood near Tropicana Avenue and McLeod Drive at approximately 5 p.m., when the two pit bulls attacked her.

The pit bulls killed one of the woman's dogs and seriously hurt the other. The woman suffered several cuts and scrapes on her arms and legs as she tried to protect her pets. None of her injuries were life threatening.

When Clark County Animal Control arrived, they found three pit bulls running free in the neighborhood. All three dogs are now in animal control custody. Authorities are still determining who owns the pit bulls.
