Thousands Run in Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon

LAS VEGAS -- The winner of the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon was Jason Brosseau of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The second place runner was a local man.

Brosseau finished the marathon with a time of 2:35:20. Las Vegan Andrew Duncan was right behind him taking the second spot.

More than 30,000 runners took to one of the most famous streets in the world as they gathered at the start line on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday afternoon.

The marathon attracted people from all 50 states and 52 countries. Portions of Las Vegas Boulevard were closed to traffic starting at 10 a.m. in preparation for the evening marathon. The marathon was moved earlier this year. In past years, it has been run in December. Organizers wanted to take advantage of the milder weather.

Channel 8 at 11 p.m. will have all the news from the day's marathon events.
