LAS VEGAS -- The much anticipated Black Friday sales have crept into Thanksgiving Day over the past few years as numerous retailers hope to cash in on the holiday season.
According to Neilsen's 2013 Holiday Spending Forecast, nearly one-quarter of U.S. consumers report they've already started their holiday shopping, but around 60 percent admit they wait to the last minute. Some analysts are predicting 2013 will not be a strong year for holiday sales. The National Retail Federation predicts the average shopper will spend $737.95 on gifts, 2 percent less than last year.
Many retailers are opening Thanksgiving evening in hopes of getting a boost on sales.
