LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a 6-year-old girl while she was trick-or-treating.

Authorities say the girl and her family were walking across Peace Way, near Tenaya, around 7:30 p.m when the girl was struck. The family was in a unmarked crosswalk and headed to a Halloween function at a church.

An off-duty police officer and doctor performed CPR on the child. The child was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition.

A four-door silver Jetta fled the scene, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Metro's Accident Investigation Section at (702)828-3128. To remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at (702)385-5555 or go to www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
