LAS VEGAS - A driver asks why the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Spencer Street lacks a traffic light given the high volume of traffic and pedestrians in the area.
She says the four-way stop and flashing red light that warns drivers of the upcoming four-way stop are helpful, but aren't enough.
A full traffic signal appears warranted at Harmon and Spencer, which sits in the middle of four heavily traveled roads - Flamingo Road, Eastern Avenue, Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway - and just east of UNLV. The area experiences a high volume of traffic.
Clark County's Traffic Management Department will launch a study to determine if the area meets necessary standards for a traffic light. The results of this study are expected in approximately 45 to 60 days.
