LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man found dead in an apartment near UNLV as Alvin Eugene Moore, 57 of Las Vegas.

The coroner says he died from a gunshot wound to the chest and the manner of death is homicide.

Metro Police found Moore at around 8 p.m. Tuesday after responding to reports of gunshots at the Tammany Hall Apartments.

During the investigation, homicide detectives determined that Moore lived at the apartment and that a struggle had taken place in the apartment before the shooting. Police also believe the victim may have known his attackers.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Metro Police's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.

According to Metro Police, Tuesday's homicide is the 91st in its jurisdiction this year, compared with 59 for the same time last year.
