LAS VEGAS - A viewer says the traffic light at Blue Diamond Road and Buffalo Drive is mistimed – often taking several minutes to change.
The mistimed light causes traffic to back up past Cimarron Road.
This can be a problem for morning commuters traveling eastbound along Blue Diamond Road who are trying to get to work on time.
RTC FAST examined the light and discovered that during most mornings - especially between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., a high volume of eastbound traffic arrives at this intersection.
As a result, technicians adjusted the signal timing to add 30 percent more time for eastbound Blue Diamond traffic during this morning period. This signal update should help accommodate what transportation officials call a "micro burst of traffic" or brief rush hour. The traffic should now move freely during morning commutes.
