Fatal Crash Involves Teen Motorcyclist in NW Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- A 17-year-old male is dead and 16-year-old female was taken to the hospital following a crash involving a motorcycle and SUV Monday morning.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. Metro Police say the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Ann Road when he crashed into the SUV which was traveling northbound on Grand Canyon Drive. The impact caused the SUV to roll onto its side. The 16-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The motorcyclist died at the scene.

Police say witnesses reported seeing the motorcyclist weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash.

    Las Vegas-- Investigators are looking into what sparked a fire at an apartment complex near Maryland Parkway and Hacienda.The Clark County Fire Department says the blaze started in a garbage can on the east side of the building. A total of five units were affected by smoke and water damage.The Red Cross is assisting one person from one of the units.Arson investigators are looking into the cause, but say there's nothing suspicious about the fire at this time.More>>
