LAS VEGAS - A viewer says driving northbound on Durango Drive from Tropicana Avenue to Desert Inn is a horrible experience due to the uneven and damaged road. He asks if crews can repave it.
He's not alone in that opinion. Another viewer referred to this stretch of Durango as "an e-ticket ride at Disneyland."
The road is littered with potholes and broken asphalt that bubbles and cracks directly under your tires.
Clark County officials agree. They plan to have crews repave Durango between Tropicana and Desert Inn. Plans are nearly complete, and the contract package should advertise for construction by the end of this year. From there, crews would need to wait for those overnight paving temperatures of the mid-70s.
That perfect paving weather is starting to go away, but those temperatures will return in May or June. Crews will repair and pave the road with a completion date scheduled for late spring 2014.
