BREAKING NEWS: Severe Thunderstorm Warning, Flood Advisory Issued

LAS VEGAS -- The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Clark County until 5:30 p.m.

At 5:06 p.m., National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. 

This storm was located near Nellis Air Force Base or near Las Vegas Motor Speedway and was moving southeast at 25 mph. 

Locations impacted include Nellis, Sam Boyd Stadium and east Las Vegas.

The weather service has also issued a flood advisory for minor flooding of urban areas until 7:30 p.m.

According to the weather service, the rainfall intensity is high, but the duration is expected to be relatively short, 30 minutes or less.

Locations impacted include downtown, North Las Vegas, Sunrise Mountain, Frenchman Mountain, Henderson and Green Valley.
