LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas man charged with murder told police that the man he is accused of shooting tried to kill him.

According to the police report released Monday, Troy Martinez, 32 of Las Vegas, was a friend of the victim, 32-year-old Brandon Kuhn.

Kuhn was at Martinez's home near the 215 beltway and Wigwam Avenue Thursday night, watching football, when they got into a fight.

Martinez told police that Kuhn hit him, chased him through the house and tried to choke him. Martinez also told police he grabbed the gun and shot him.

Martinez's wife, Niki Fuentes, also told police she saw Kuhn chase her husband through the house and jump on his back. She did not see the shooting because it happened in another room, police said.

However, police say there is no evidence of a struggle in the house. Martinez is being charged with murder with a deadly weapon.
