Police Arrest Child Abuse Suspect

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a child abuse case that sent a 5-month-old baby to the hospital in critical condition. 

According to police, officers arrested 31-year-old Anthony Casey early Friday morning after SWAT surrounded a home in the 5600 block of Souvenir Lane near Lindell Road and Hacienda Avenue.

Police were called to Sunrise Trauma Center at around 5 p.m. Thursday after a 5-month-old baby was brought to the hospital in critical condition. Medical personnel believed the injuries appeared to be the result of abuse

According to police, Casey was caring for the child at the time that the baby suffered the injuries.

Casey is charged with one count of child abuse/neglect with substantial bodily harm and one count of child abuse/neglect.
