NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Clark County School District Police have released more information about the security situation at a local high school minutes before a student was pistol-whipped.

Canyon Springs High School invited seniors for a welcome breakfast Friday morning. However, they did not invite the men and juveniles who walked right into the center of campus and picked a near-deadly fight

Two men, Katario Miller and Nicholas Johnson, were arrested in connection with the incident over the weekend after a 26-hour-long manhunt by Clark County School District police.

Both men are 18 years old. The man police say pistol-whipped the two teens is still on the loose.

CCSD police say there was no security at the entrance of Canyon Springs High School during the senior breakfast Friday morning.

An administrator was at the gate while a school police officer was inside the campus.

According to the police report, at least three men walked into the quad at the center of campus where they started a fight and robbed three Canyon Springs students.

The police report says Maurice Harvey drew his gun and pistol-whipped two students. One student had three fractured ribs. The other student had internal bleeding in his brain.

Canyon Springs's principal tells the I-Team both students are back at school.

Clark County School Police said because the welcome breakfast was before the school year, there was not the same amount of officers on campus as there is when school is in session.

School police have not released any pictures of pistol-whipping suspect Maurice Harvey.

Anyone with information of the attack at Canyon Springs call CCSD Police dispatch 24-hours-a-day at (702) 799-5411, or to remain anonymous, call (702) 799-0228.
