LAS VEGAS -- Two bodies were discovered off of East Lake Mead Boulevard, east of Hollywood Boulevard, late Friday evening.

Metro and homicide detectives received a call around 10 p.m. by a citizen who discovered a deceased male and female in the desert about four miles east Hollywood Boulevard.

Detectives determined that the two people were connected and it appeared to be a domestic situation.

Homicide detectives learned that at approximately 7 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's dispatch center received a call referencing that 22-year-old Sinthia Stephanie Cruz had been taken from her home on Steelhead Lane by her ex-boyfriend, Angel Omar Cruz. Metro officers were investigating the incident when the deceased individuals were discovered.

Detectives determined the two individuals were the subjects of the earlier police call.

According to the coroner's office, Sinthia Cruz died from multiple gunshot wounds and Omar died from a self-inflicted gunshot to the chest.

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the LVMPD Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
