LAS VEGAS - A viewer says, since road construction finished, an intersection at Boulder Highway and Sahara Avenue has two left turn lights, but only one left turn lane.
The intersection contains one turn lane, but because of the confusing lines, drivers are trying to make it a double turn lane. The viewer says this is a dangerous area, since many drivers lose patience with the backed up traffic and make reckless turns.
The Nevada Department of Transportation is aware of the situation. Traffic drums from Las Vegas Paving are already in place to close the inside left-turn lane from northbound Boulder Highway to eastbound Sahara Avenue. That ends that confusion.
The inside left-turn lane heading westbound on Sahara was also closed for Las Vegas Electric's use for construction.
These cones and closures temporarily end the confusion, but NDOT, Las Vegas Paving, Jacobs Engineering and the Regional Transportation Commission are still working on a long-term solution.
