LAS VEGAS -- Henderson Police are on the hunt for the person or people responsible for a series of late night shootings in the community of Eastern Avenue and Windmill Parkway.
Investigators were called to three separate homes with bullets shot through car windows and into one family's home.
Three separate gun shots hit the home of Steve Hrustyk and have him wondering, ‘What if the bullets actually hit or killed someone?'
"If I would have been sitting there, I would have been dead," Hrustyk said. "It could have been my kids, could have been my wife, and somebody knows who did this."
The bullets came flying at his family's home late Sunday night around 10:30 p.m. The first bullet hit Hrustyk's mini-van then ricocheting into the garage. One of the bullets lodged itself in the wall while another bullet landed on laundry ten feet away from his wife.
"One up high, one here, and one through the door inside where my wife was," Hrustyk added. "All sorts of things went through my head and my wife was right there, this is really careless."
Hrustyk's home wasn't the only place shot up.
Just a few homes down, homeowner Gary Carter had gunshots hit one of his cars parked outside of his house.
Carter's daughter was with a group of friends and they were about to leave when the gun fire started.
"It's pretty scary, we've never had any type of incidents like that in this neighborhood in the nine years that we've lived here," Carter said. "We thought about these girls they were in our house and they were set to leave at that time and they could have been very easily out front when these people came through."
Neighbors used a website called AlertID to band together in getting the word out about the shootings and posted pictures of the incidents. The website is a free crime fighting tool and it can send you information to your cell phone or email about things happening in your neighborhood.
Henderson Police said they don't have a lot to go on, but the shootings appear to be random.
