LAS VEGAS -- A former top prosecutor who lost her job last year may soon be back, working for Clark County.
Victoria Villegas was fired in February of last year. Her name has surfaced in a massive federal probe into corruption and fraud in local homeowners associations.
The District Attorney's office accused Villegas of lying to the FBI about her estranged husband David Amesbury's role in a plan to defraud banks.
They also accused her of abusing family leave time while taking care of Amesbury after he was severely beaten.
An arbitrator ruled that the office did not have just cause to fire her and ordered them to give Villegas her job back.
The county says they are deciding what step to take next.
Amesbury plead guilty in the HOA corruption scheme and later took his own life.
