NORTH LAS VEGAS -- One man is dead in an early morning crash in North Las Vegas.

According to North Las Vegas Police officials, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and Texas Star Lane around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Arriving officers found a 37-year-old man lying in the roadway unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on scene by responding medical personnel. Three other men were transported to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates the 37-year-old driver of a Jeep was involved in a minor crash in the parking lot of the Texas Station. Witnesses say he attempted to flee from the crash when he drove northbound on Lake Mead, running a red light as he exited the parking lot and colliding with the sedan that was traveling eastbound on Lake Mead.

Evidence at the scene suggests the driver of the Jeep was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

This accident remains under investigation.

This is the 8th fatal crash in North Las Vegas this year.
