Firefighters Find Pot Grow Operation

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police said a grow house was busted Wednesday after firefighters responded to a fire in the 3100 block of Old Salt Circle, near Fort Apache and Desert Inn roads.

Police officers found 41 marijuana plants in the house, which Metro estimated to hold a street value of $100,000.

"This is, yet again, another example of the dangers of these marijuana operations that are going on inside homes, inside communities just like this one where there's children present," Metro Narcotics Lt. Laz Chavez said. "We're doing everything we can to try to detect these things."

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
