LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Nevada judge set a Dec. 2 date for the death penalty trial of a self-described pimp accused of killing three people in a shooting and fiery crash on the Las Vegas Strip.

Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney said Monday the trial of 27-year-old Ammar Harris will follow a separate Sept. 9 kidnapping and sex assault trial stemming from a woman's claim that Harris raped her in 2010.

The judge also acknowledged the difficulty of conducting a high-profile trial during the year-end holiday season.

Harris is accused of shooting and killing a man driving a Maserati and two people in a taxi that burst into flames in a chain-reaction crash early Feb. 21.

Prosecutor David Stanton said outside court that he expects trial will take about three weeks.
