LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police identified the man involved in a shooting with officers Thursday as Patrick Malone, 31.

SWAT officers had served a search warrant of Malone's home in the 7100 block of Pirates Cove and were inside the house when they came across a closed bedroom door. When they opened the door, Malone was pointing a handgun at them. Officers fired at Malone, and he dropped the gun, according to police.

No one was hit or injured in the shooting.

Police had served the warrant as part of an investigation conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children detail for possession and distribution of child pornography.

Malone is being held at the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of assault on protected person with a deadly weapon and a count of resisting a public officer with a deadly weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact Metro's Sexual Assault Section at 702-828-3307 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
