LAS VEGAS -- Search crews have found the body of a swimmer reported missing Sunday at Lake Mead.
The body of Curtis James Ficarrotta, 30, of Las Vegas was located Monday morning. The man was last seen swimming east of Calville Bay in the Virgin Basin. A call was made to 911 around 2 p.m. Sunday after the man reportedly went underwater and did not surface.
According to the National Park Service, alcohol appears to have been a contributing factor. This is the second drowning incident in a week. Rangers strongly encourage swimmers to wear life jackets.
Last week, a man from Chicago was reported missing in the water. His body has yet to be found.
