LAS VEGAS -- The man struck by a car and killed Thursday night has been identified as 86-year-old Richard Charles Turnbull of Reno.
Turnbull was hit by the vehicle around 9:30 p.m. near Spring Valley Parkway and Rainbow Boulevard. Police say he was attempting to cross the street when he was struck.
Turnbull worked as a dealer at the World Series of Poker. A spokesperson released the following statement:
"We're devastated to hear one of the WSOP's own is no longer with us. Richard Turnbull has been dealing poker for 38 years, has been an American hero serving his country as part of the Navy in World War II and was emblematic of all that is good. Our condolences and prayers go out to his family."
