LAS VEGAS -- A third person has been charged in the death of an exotic bird at the Flamingo Hotel's wildlife habitat on the Las Vegas Strip.

According to the Clark County District Attorney's office, Hazhir Kargaran, 26, pleaded no contest Wednesday to three misdemeanors for his role in the beheading of the bird. He will spend two days in the Clark County Detention Center.

Kargaran is a law student at the University of California in Berkeley. Two other men, Justin Teixeira and Eric Cuellar, who were also students at the school were arrested after the Oct. 12 incident.

Teixeira, who is awaiting trial, is accused of grabbing a helmeted guinea fowl named Turk and decapitating the animal. Cuellar has already pleaded guilty to instigating an act of cruelty against an animal.
