Jose Canseco Named as Suspect in Sexual Assault

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police say they are currently investigating allegations of a sexual assault in which baseball player Jose Canseco has been named as a suspect.

Tweets began showing up on Canseco's Twitter page today saying he was visited by police last night. Several tweets were related to the alleged assault and referred to the woman by name and listed her phone number.

According to Metro Police, Canseco has not been arrested or charged with a crime.

Canseco, a Las Vegas resident, is a former Major League Baseball player. He is now with a minor league team in the independent United League.
