LAS VEGAS - A viewer says a crosswalk at Maryland Parkway and Reno Avenue is dangerous.
The viewer says it's not well marked, and the area generates a significant amount of pedestrian traffic due to the presence of several nearby apartment complexes.
He adds many car crashes have occurred there, as a result of cars stopping suddenly for pedestrians. A well-marked, refreshed crosswalk would help warn drivers and guide pedestrians.
Clark County agrees. County officials have already started designing improvements to the intersection of Maryland and Reno. Those improvements include a pedestrian-activated crosswalk flasher, American Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalk ramps, new pavements and new paint.
This project will advertise for construction bids in June. It's scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
