LAS VEGAS -- Around 3,000 graduates walked the stage for the 50th UNLV commencement ceremonies.
This is the day college students wait for. It's the end of late night study sessions and the beginning of their careers.
Anthony Alegrete said he's not worried about the job market. He started thinking about his career years ago and even began his own business.
"I started a business in the downtown area called Real Results Fitness and a non-profit called Jump for Joy Fitness, so I plan on taking it to the next level and taking it nationally," said Alegrete.
The graduates listened to words of encouragement from the school's administration and peers.
Two honorary degrees were also handed out. One was given to a comedian you may recognize -- Jimmy Kimmel, who is a former UNLV student.
As the graduates walked the stage, family and friends cheered on UNLV's class of 2013.
UNLV's first graduating class was in 1964, when 29 students crossed the stage.
